The geothermal potential was evaluated based on existing data and presented as play maps showing reservoir depth, flow volume and temperature. The estimated flow volumes and the design of a well pair (injector and producer) were used for well cost estimation and indicative unit heat costs. A benchmarking against existing energy costs was made.
The main objectives for studying a long-term investment of a year-round energy supply independent of the weather included looking at the opportunity for geothermal energy in a rural area in Denmark and if it could be used as a heat supplement for the traditional district heating plants and industrial/agricultural usage.
